My newest pet peeve

Recentally I've discovered a new and very annoying habit that Payton has. I think Payton is a lot smarter than some would like to give him credit for; I think that he knows when he does things that bug me and now he seems to like to do them all the time. When I walk into the kitchen and go to the fridge it has become very common for me to step on pieces of dog food. It's not just a piece or two, but multiple pieces of food.

You might think that this isn't that bad and why would I get so upset. Well it wouldn't be too bad if this was the only place I found pieces of dog food. I spend my days finding pieces on the kitchen rug and all over in the carpet, which is brown so it's even harder to spot. Still you might think this isn't that bad, but it gets better. Payton feels the need to make his mess on the kitchen floor and then throughout the day instead of eating whats on the floor he goes back to his bowl of food. The only time he feels the need to pick up (eat) this food is when his bowl is empty. Brent gets a kick out it when I get upset over it, but I really think Payton knows exactly what he is doing.

Dogs are very smart and they do no how to annoy. We have some really good friends that had a boxer and he would never touch any of the guys stuff...but she had a collection of stuffed bears. He would shred a bear every time he was mad. Just the bears, her prized collection. So yes, dogs do no how to get to us. You should put up his dog dish till he gets out of that habit. Good luck!

Hi Emily! I saw that you have a blog, through June Woodall's blog- so I thought I would pop in and take a look. I am glad you are here in Yakima for your husband to attend D.O. school, and am glad you are in our ward. I am looking forward to getting to know you better! Feel free to check out my blog at www.becky-wilson.blogspot.com. Since my husband just graduated from D.O. school this year- it will be fun to compare notes!

Without a doubt, that dog is smarter than us all. He wouldn't have lasted this long if he wasn't.
Good Luck with that. It will prepare you for having kids. At least it's dry food. I could be worse--like grapes or marshmellows or a nutrigrain bar or chocolate milk. Take your pick.
