Playing with Friends and Picking Raspberries

We went to the park with one of my friends the other day. I wish I had gotten more pictures but oh well. We saw ducks and turtles at the duck pond, fish in the Japanse gardens, lots of flowers at the rose garden and went hiking on a few little pathways.

Our neighbors have raspberry bushes that have spread over and into our yard. We all love raspberries and we have been able to pick tons so far this year.

Rolling

Hendrix rolled over from his tummy to his back at the end of June and sadly I missed it, I turned by back for two seconds and he was over.  Then for about a week he would just lay there and nothing.  He was perfectly content to be right where he was.  Then one day all of the sudden he wanted to move.  He kept trying so hard to get from him back to his tummy and would get so close and so angry when it just wasn't happening but he would end up turning himself in circles on his back. The next day he was done messing around and rolled right over and now when we put him down on his back he rolls right over to his tummy. Now he just needs to figure out how to get back where he started.  He likes to wake us up at about 6am because he has rolled onto his tummy and his stuck and angry.

More Summer Fun

We have been staying busy this summer
 Lots of time at parks.
National Donut Day with the boys at Krispy Kreme. Who doesn't love a free donut?!?
Jag has really gotten into puzzles lately.
Ward BBQ by the Temple. Sadly Daddy worked late so it was just me and the boys.

Lots of dancing goes on at our house.
 Pretending to be daddy.

Jagger likes to hold Hendrix but it only lasts for a minute.

In a house full of boys we wrestle a lot!

Again lots and lots of time had been spent playing outside.

Photo Sessions

I'm trying really hard to get a good picture of Hendrix every month.  It can sometime be a long process, between getting a picture of a happy boy and the constant photo bombs from his brothers but I end up with some pretty fun pictures.

Park Day

We have been loving the summer this year and I'm trying really hard to get out more with the boys this year to help them get more energy out. I had heard about this park so we decided to go on a Saturday with Dad to check it out. It was a hit. It has toys, swings, sand box, splash pad (that is perfect for smaller kids), rocks to climb, a mini built into the grown trampoline, and many other cool things to do. We have gone back a couple times and plan on making many more visits.

I realized that I'm typically the one taking the pictures so I'm not in very many so I had Jax take one of me, I think he did a pretty good job.

First Haircut

Brent tried for weeks to convince me that Hendrix needed a haircut but I just wasn't ready.  For some reason I had a much harder time cutting his hair than I did with the older two.
Before: you can see his crazy little patch in the back that was ALWAYS standing up and sticking out funny.

He did so good  he was by far the best and most mellow of the three of them for first haircuts.  He sat there the whole time just having a good time.
After: I didn't think to take an after picture but here is one from a few days later you can see that now his crazy patch is trimmed down and lays down nicely with the rest of his hair.

The Dentist

The boys had their visits to the dentist a few weeks ago and it went much better than I had planned.  Any pervious visits to the dentist consisted of screaming, crying, and refusing to cooperate.  This time around I decided to take them for separate appointments, and it was wonderful!
Jagger went first and did awesome! He sat by  himself and insisted that all the stuffed animals be with him.  Him has been cavity free for three trips in arrow so he got a cool new shirt!
When Jaxon heard how well Jagger had done and all the cool things he brought home he was determined to be brave too.

He definitely exceeded my expectations! He went back with the nice dental hygienist and got his very first set of x-rays and then sat right in the chair and had his first official cleaning.
I was amazed and the drastic change from just 6 months ago.  Now they think that going to the dentist is so cool that I overheard them playing dentist a couple times in the days that followed.
